Segel's original short film Ember, directed and co-written by Manuel Del Valle, premiered in 2022 at the NFMLA + Latinx & Hispanic Cinema Festival at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and was selected by the LA Shorts International Film Festival. She produced and co-wrote the 2026 comedy short film Girls' Night alongside screenwriter Cathleen Freedman. Girls' Night was directed by Noni Culotta and filmed in Austin, Texas.
Segel's screenplays have received finalist and semifinalist placements in the Creative World Awards, the ScreenCraft Fellowship and Pilot Launch, Script Pipeline, Cinestory, and the WGI Michael Collyer Fellowship.
She founded Lex Machina Studio in October 2026. Lex Machina is a hybrid film production studio that blends traditional filmmaking with GenAI tools. The studio's first film, Soulmates, will be released in Fall 2026.

AUDIO
In 2026, Segel received a Women Podcasters Award for her original audio drama series, Hellhound Country. The show's pilot script was a Semifinalist at the 2023 Austin Film Festival, placing in the top 2% of 11,000+ entries. Her sci-fi script Fort Atlas won the 2024 AFF's First Three Pages Live! competition.
Segel partnered with Rogue Media Network in the creation of the Hellhound Country audio series. The first season premiered in December 2024, featuring ten episodes. A second season premiered in February 2026 and concluded in May. Segel wrote Karma, (Catharine Daddario, Romy Evans) an episode of the award-winning horror anthology Ominous Thrill, created by Jeff Schmidt.
